With an affinity for catchy melodies and energetic songs, Dagny is one of Norway’s most exciting and in-demand pop artists. Over a billion plays via streaming services, global press support from The Guardian, Billboard, BBC, NME, NYLON + more, sold-out headline shows all over Europe, and well over 2 million monthly listeners on Spotify, confirm that the upbeat Tromsø native consistently succeeds in making the day a little better for everyone who listens to her music.

In 2016, Dagny released her single BACKBEAT, which was immediately noticed and premiered by Zane Lowe for Apple Beats 1. The song was then added to a variety of Spotify’s playlists, and the acoustic version was synced in the mega-popular TV series “Grey’s Anatomy”.

The artist and songwriter has since been welcomed with open arms by both her growing army of fans and the industry gatekeepers. The hit song SOMEBODY won “Song of the Year” at Norway’s P3 Gull in 2020, and topped the Norwegian radio charts for a full 18 weeks (!). SOMEBODY remained in the Norwegian charts for almost two years, has over 75 million streams and is the most played song on Norwegian radio two years in a row.

Even with only one full-length album under her belt, Dagny has already been nominated for Norway’s Spellemann (equivalent of local Grammy Awards) six times. The debut album STRANGERS / LOVERS was released in two parts during 2020, and was described by Norway’s Aftenposten newspaper as “some of the best of modern pop music of 2020. Not only in Norway, but also globally” – with glowing press adoration elsewhere from The Guardian, BBC Music, The Metro and more.

In addition to her success as a solo artist, Dagny is also an accomplished songwriter providing lyrics and melodies for other exciting and popular artists. She co-wrote Katy Perry‘s NEVER REALLY OVER which reached over a billion plays globally.  She has also written for artists such as Ashnikko, Julie Bergan, Marcus & Martinus, and others.

As an artist, she has collaborated with, among others, the EDM duo Seeb (Spellemann-nominated DRINK ABOUT), American DJ and producer Steve Aoki, Swedish producers NOTD, UK indie-rockers The Wombats from Liverpool and Spanish-British band Crystal Fighters.

In 2021, Dagny teamed up with Astrid S, and together the two pop queens released the song PRETTY, an iconic and long-awaited collaboration between two of Norway’s biggest pop stars. The two wrote the song in collaboration with the star production trio Rat City and subsequently topped the airplay charts in Norway.

She kicked off her summer of festival appearances in 2022 by releasing a sparkling, joyous slice of indie-pop, BRIGHTSIDER. Inspired by those with an innate capacity to always look on the bright side of life, even in the most demanding of situations – Dagny describes how she herself, through a period of little new impulses and external stimuli, felt an urge to create a space to dream and to look forward to the very best life has to offer.

She then followed up with HIGHS & LOWS, a personal song that it’s about unconditional love – about steadily standing by someone’s side through all the highs and the lows, all the easy and the challenging. Later that fall she collaborated on Kygo’s latest album with the tune LONELY TOGETHER.

To date, Dagny has performed at over 35 international summer festivals – including Isle of White, The Great Escape, and British Summer Time at Hyde Park. Dagny is known as an energetic live artist with infectious energy and uplifting performances on stage.  She continues to develop the live show both sonically and visually – always pushing boundaries and keeping the fan experience at the forefront.
